A basic credit card reader is composed of a magnetic stripe reader, a keypad used to enter information, and a tiny display. A keyboard wedge serial port or USB is where the reader can be attached, and can have a printer that is either built in or separate unit.
The display part of the reader comes in various types, with the bigger display as more favourable since you can view more information. There is also a reader with a backlit that proves to be advantageous when your reader is used under low lighted areas.
Keypads differ in number of sizes and keys, and generally, the bigger keypads will enhance the convenience in using. The more keys available, the more preference given to the commonly used utilities to use their own key.
